1. Who We Are and Acceptance of These Terms

Sierra BLS, LLC, doing business as Hinson CPR, is one business. Hinson CPR is the name we use on our websites, in our marketing, and in most of our messages. Sierra BLS, LLC is our legal entity, and that name may still appear on our registration system, receipts, certification cards, and other records. In these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"), "Hinson CPR," "we," "us," and "our" mean Sierra BLS, LLC dba Hinson CPR, and a reference to either name is a reference to the same business.

We are an American Heart Association (AHA) authorized Training Site and an NAEMT Training Center located at 255 W Moana Ln, Suite 200, Reno, NV 89509. We provide training, certifications, and continuing education through organizations including the AHA, the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), and the Nevada State Board of Nursing (continuing education units).

These Terms govern your use of our websites (HinsonCPR.com and SierraBLS.com), our registration portal at hinsoncpr.enrollware.com, and every class, skills session, instructor service, and other service we provide.

How you accept these Terms

You accept these Terms, and agree to be bound by them in full, when you do any of the following:

  • Register or enroll for any course, class, skills session, or service, whether online, in person, or through an employer, school, or group arrangement;
  • Pay for any course or service by any method, including online through Enrollware, Stripe, or any payment link or invoice we send; in person by cash, check, debit card, or credit card; or through an employer, school, or other third party paying on your behalf;
  • Register using a promo code, voucher, group code, or any option that allows you to pay later or pay on site;
  • Check an acceptance box, sign a roster, registration form, or sign-in sheet; or
  • Attend any part of a class or use our websites.

Every enrollment is completed through Enrollware, including enrollments paid in person by cash or card. No enrollment through Enrollware, and no payment through Stripe, can be completed without checking a box confirming that you have read and agree to these Terms. Your acceptance applies regardless of the payment method, the platform used, or whether you read these Terms before accepting them. These Terms are posted on our websites and are available on request at any time. Checking an acceptance box, completing a purchase, or signing a roster or form is your electronic or written signature and has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not register, pay, or attend.

If you register or pay on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you have their authority to accept these Terms for them, that you will tell them about the class requirements in these Terms, and that you are jointly responsible with them for any amount owed under these Terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and is part of these Terms.

2. Registration and Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to register. A parent, guardian, school, or employer may register a minor for an eligible class and accepts these Terms on the minor's behalf.
  • Register through our online schedule at hinsoncpr.enrollware.com/Schedule. All enrollments, including those paid in person by cash or card, are completed through Enrollware. We do not accept registrations, enrollments, or payments by phone under any circumstances. Your registration is confirmed only when payment is received in full, unless we have agreed in writing to a different arrangement, such as a promo code or pay-on-site registration under Section 3.
  • Each class has a limited number of seats. When you register, your seat is removed from sale and is no longer available to other students.
  • Enter your legal name, a current email address, and a phone number exactly as they should appear on your certification. Cards and certificates are issued in the name provided at registration, and corrections after issuance may be delayed.
  • Registrations are non-transferable unless we approve a substitution in writing before the class.
  • You are responsible for confirming, before you register, that the course you selected meets the requirements of your employer, school, licensing board, or credentialing organization. We do not issue refunds because a course does not meet a requirement you did not confirm in advance.
  • We may refuse service, decline a registration, or remove a participant at our discretion, including for unsafe, disruptive, dishonest, or abusive conduct, or for a prior unpaid balance, no-show, or payment dispute.

3. Prices and Payment

  • Prices are shown on our registration portal and may change without notice. The price in effect when you complete your purchase applies to that purchase. If a price is displayed in error, we may cancel the registration and refund the amount paid.
  • Payment is due in full at registration unless we agree in writing to invoice your organization or to accept payment on site. Online payments are processed through our registration platform and payment processor (currently Enrollware and Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
  • Group and employer invoices are due before the class date unless the invoice states otherwise. We may release seats that have not been paid for.
  • Fees for additional reschedules or other services are due when the service is requested.
  • A receipt is emailed to you at the time of registration or payment. Your registration record, the Terms you accepted, and our attendance and communication records are our records of the transaction.

Promo code and pay-on-site registrations

If you register using a promo code, voucher, or any option that holds your seat and allows you to pay on site or at a later date, you are reserving a limited seat that we hold for you and remove from sale to other students. If you do not attend the class (a no-show as defined in Section 4) and you did not reschedule in accordance with Section 5, you are responsible for and agree to pay:

  • The full published price of the course at the time of registration, without any promo code, discount, or voucher applied; plus
  • Any instructor costs we incur because of your registration or no-show, including instructor pay for a class we held, staffed, or kept scheduled for you.

These amounts are due within 15 days of the class date. We may invoice you, and if you registered on behalf of an organization or another person, we may invoice that organization or person.

Unpaid balances

Any amount that remains unpaid when due, including amounts owed for a no-show, a class attended, a certification issued, or a payment dispute under Section 8, may be referred to collections. You agree to pay the reasonable collection costs and attorney's fees we incur to collect an unpaid balance, to the extent permitted by law. We may refuse future registrations until all balances are paid.

4. Attendance, Arrival Time, and Pre-Course Requirements

AHA and NAEMT courses require attendance for the full course. To protect the integrity of your certification and to be fair to other students:

  • Arrival time. Classes begin at the scheduled start time. Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early to check in. Students who arrive after the scheduled start time will not be admitted, the seat is treated as a no-show, and the course fee is forfeited. If you are running late, call (775) 235-2117 before the start time and we will tell you whether you can still join.
  • Pre-course work. Some courses require work before class, such as completing the online portion of a HeartCode or blended course and bringing the completion certificate, or completing the ACLS or PALS precourse self-assessment and precourse work. If required pre-course work is not completed by the start of class, you cannot participate, and the seat is treated as a no-show.
  • Course textbook. The AHA and NAEMT require every student to have the current edition of the course textbook, such as the AHA Provider Manual or the NAEMT course textbook, in print or eBook form, available before, during, and after the course. A textbook is offered as an add-on when you register. If you decline to purchase a textbook from us, you affirm that you have access to the current edition of the required textbook by other means before, during, and after the course, for example a copy you purchased on your own from the AHA, NAEMT, or another seller, a copy your employer or school supplied, or a copy you already own. Declining a textbook does not waive the requirement, and you remain responsible for having the required textbook.
  • Full attendance. You must attend the entire class, including all skills practice and testing. Leaving early or missing a portion of the class makes you ineligible for a card, and the course fee is forfeited.
  • Identification. You may be asked to show a government-issued photo ID before a certification is issued.
  • No-shows. A no-show is a registration that is not attended, an arrival after the scheduled start time, an arrival without required pre-course work, or a departure before the class ends. If we did not receive a reschedule request before the class started, we treat the seat as a no-show. A no-show forfeits the entire course fee and is not eligible for a refund or a free reschedule. For promo code and pay-on-site registrations, a no-show creates the balance described in Section 3. At our discretion, we may offer a one-time courtesy reschedule to a first-time no-show; any courtesy offer will state its deadline and any fee, and it is not a right under these Terms. Any other reschedule after a no-show is subject to availability and the reschedule fees in Section 5.

5. Rescheduling

Because all purchases are nonrefundable, rescheduling is the option available to you if you cannot attend your class.

  • One reschedule is free if you request it at least 48 hours before your scheduled class start time.
  • Additional reschedules are $25 each for BLS and Heartsaver courses, and $50 each for advanced courses (all courses other than BLS and Heartsaver), instructor courses, and monitoring sessions.
  • Reschedule requests made less than 48 hours before class are not guaranteed and may be declined. If a request is declined and you do not attend, the no-show terms apply.
  • Reschedules are subject to availability. A rescheduled class is subject to these Terms in full, including the arrival time and no-show terms. Rescheduling does not change the nonrefundable status of your purchase.
  • To request a reschedule, email Info@HinsonCPR.com or call or text (775) 235-2117 with your name, course, current class date, and the new date you would like from our schedule.

6. No Refunds: All Sales Final

All purchases are final and nonrefundable from the moment payment is made or a seat is reserved. This applies to every course, class, skills session, instructor course, monitoring session, digital course access, material, and fee, and to every payment method, including online, in person, by invoice, or by a third party on your behalf.

Each class has a limited number of seats. When you register, your seat is removed from sale and another student loses the opportunity to take it. For that reason, the no-refund policy applies no matter how soon after purchase a request is made, including requests made minutes or hours after purchase, and no matter how far in advance of the class the request is made.

Refunds are not a right

You are not entitled to a refund under these Terms, except as stated in Section 7 for a class we cancel. Any other refund, credit, or partial refund is a courtesy granted solely at the discretion of Hinson CPR management. Management may approve or deny any request for any reason or no reason, and may require a processing fee of at least 10% of the amount paid on any refund it chooses to grant. A refund granted to one student, or in one instance, does not entitle you or anyone else to a refund, and does not waive this section. No instructor or staff member other than management may promise a refund, and any such promise is not binding unless confirmed by management in writing.

Examples of situations that do not qualify for a refund

  • Change of mind, schedule conflicts, work or family conflicts, illness, travel, or transportation issues
  • Accidental purchase, purchase of the wrong course or class date, or duplicate registration you made yourself (contact us; we may, at our discretion, move you to the correct course or date)
  • No-shows as defined in Section 4, including late arrivals, arrivals without required pre-course work, and leaving early
  • Failure to complete or pass all course requirements
  • Removal from class for unsafe, disruptive, dishonest, or inappropriate behavior
  • Digital course access, including HeartCode and any online module, once the access key has been issued
  • Opened, accessed, or shipped course materials
  • Registrations that have been rescheduled
  • Your employer, school, or another party declining to reimburse you
  • Instructor course fees, monitoring fees, or materials when instructor status is not granted or is revoked because of a violation of the issuing organization's policies
  • Courses that do not meet a requirement of your employer, school, or licensing board that you did not confirm before registering

7. Classes We Cancel or Postpone

Occasionally we must cancel or postpone a class because of weather, an instructor emergency, an equipment or facility problem, or low enrollment. If that happens, we will notify you by email, text, or phone as early as we can, and you may choose either a seat in another class at no additional charge or a refund of the amount you paid for that class with no processing fee. This is the only situation in which a refund is provided as a matter of course under these Terms. We are not responsible for travel, lodging, lost wages, or other costs related to a cancelled or postponed class.

8. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Before disputing a charge with your bank, card issuer, or payment provider, you agree to contact us at Info@HinsonCPR.com or (775) 235-2117 and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. Filing a dispute without contacting us first is a breach of these Terms. In this section, a "dispute" includes a chargeback, a payment reversal, a retrieval request, a stop-payment order, a returned check, or an ACH or bank transfer reversal.

Unjustified disputes

A dispute is unjustified if it concerns a valid charge for a course or service you purchased under these Terms, including a dispute filed for:

  • A class you attended, in whole or in part;
  • A certification, eCard, or course access that was issued to you;
  • A class you did not attend and did not reschedule in accordance with these Terms (a no-show);
  • A purchase that is nonrefundable under Section 6, including a refund request that was denied; or
  • A charge that you or a person you authorized made, described as unauthorized, unrecognized, or fraudulent.

Dispute fee

If you file an unjustified dispute, you agree to pay Hinson CPR a dispute fee of no less than five (5) times the full published price of the disputed course or service, in addition to the original amount owed. This fee is due whether or not your bank or card issuer decides the dispute in your favor, and whether or not you later withdraw the dispute.

You and we agree that an unjustified dispute causes us harm that is real but difficult to calculate precisely, including the loss of a limited seat that could have been sold to another student, management and staff time spent gathering records and responding, instructor time spent providing statements, fees charged by the card networks and our payment processor, and the risk that dispute activity causes our payment processor to restrict, hold funds from, or close our account. The dispute fee is a reasonable estimate of those damages agreed to in advance, not a penalty.

Other consequences of a dispute

  • We will respond with our records, which may include your registration and payment records, your acceptance of these Terms, our attendance records and roster signatures, instructor statements, our communications with you, and time-stamped security video from our facility.
  • The original amount of an unjustified dispute remains due to us even if your card issuer resolves the dispute in your favor.
  • We may withhold any certification not yet issued until the dispute is resolved and all amounts are paid, and we may request that any certification issued for the disputed course be invalidated by the issuing organization until the balance is paid, to the extent its policies allow.
  • We may permanently refuse future service to you and to any organization that files or directs an unjustified dispute.
  • We may refer all unpaid amounts, including the dispute fee, to collections or pursue them in court, and you agree to pay our reasonable collection costs and attorney's fees, to the extent permitted by law.

Your rights

Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under federal or Nevada law to dispute a genuine billing error, such as a charge for a purchase you did not make or authorize, a duplicate charge we made, a charge for the wrong amount, or a charge for a class we cancelled without offering a seat or refund under Section 7. The dispute fee does not apply to a dispute over a genuine billing error that we made and did not correct after you contacted us.

9. Certification, Cards, and Continuing Education

  • Certification is issued only after you complete all course requirements, including attendance, skills tests, and written exams, to the standard set by the issuing organization, and after payment in full. Our instructors decide whether course requirements have been met. If you do not pass on the first attempt, you may be offered remediation and a retest during the course as the curriculum allows. If you do not pass after remediation, you must register and pay for a new course.
  • AHA eCards are issued electronically through the AHA and our AHA Training Center after successful completion and are claimed through the AHA's eCard system using the email address you provided at registration. NAEMT cards are issued through NAEMT. The eCard or the issuing organization's card is the official credential. Any printed card we provide is a convenience copy.
  • Continuing education certificates are issued in the name on your registration after you complete the entire course. You are responsible for reporting continuing education to your licensing board and for confirming that the credit meets your board's requirements.
  • You authorize us to share the personal information required to issue, report, and verify your certification with the issuing and credentialing organizations, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Certifications obtained through misrepresentation, including registering under a false identity, having another person complete any part of a course for you, or failing to complete required components, are void and may be invalidated by us or the issuing organization.
  • We are not responsible for delays, errors, or denials of certification caused by an issuing organization or by inaccurate information you provided at registration.
  • Certification does not guarantee employment, licensure, or acceptance by any employer, school, or board.

10. Course Participation, Safety, and Conduct

  • Physical activity. CPR and life support training involves physical activity, including kneeling on the floor, performing chest compressions on manikins, and moving equipment. Participate only if you are physically able to do so, consult your physician if you are unsure, and tell your instructor before class about any limitation that may affect your participation. We will accommodate where we reasonably can.
  • Assumption of risk. You accept the risks associated with skills practice and physical activity during training.
  • Conduct. Treat instructors, staff, and other students with respect. We may remove any participant who is disruptive, unsafe, impaired, dishonest, or disrespectful, without refund.
  • Testing integrity. Exams and skills tests must be completed by you, alone. You may not photograph, record, copy, or share exam materials, and you may not record class sessions without our permission.
  • Property. You are responsible for damage you cause to our equipment, materials, or facility beyond normal wear.
  • Personal belongings. We are not responsible for lost or stolen personal items.
  • Security cameras. Our facility uses video security cameras. Footage may be used for safety, security, attendance verification, and dispute resolution, as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Instructors and Instructor Candidates

  • Alignment. AHA instructors may align with our Training Site at no cost and with no minimum teaching requirement beyond AHA minimums. Aligned instructors must follow the AHA Program Administration Manual, the policies of our AHA Training Center, and these Terms. We may end an alignment at any time for violations of those policies, at our discretion, or for conduct that reflects poorly on the AHA, our Training Center, or Hinson CPR.
  • Instructor courses and monitoring. Instructor course fees, monitoring session fees, and materials are subject to the payment, attendance, reschedule, no-refund, and dispute terms in Sections 3 through 8, including the $50 reschedule fee for instructor courses and monitoring sessions. Completing an instructor course does not guarantee instructor status, which is granted only after a successful monitored teaching session and the issuing organization's requirements are met.
  • No refund is issued if instructor status is not granted or is revoked because of a violation of the issuing organization's policies.

12. Communications and Text Messaging (SMS)

By registering or contacting us, you agree that we may contact you by email, phone, and text message about your registration, class, certification, any balance owed, and any inquiry you send us. Our calls and text messages are delivered through business communication platforms, currently Zoom Phone and RingCentral, together with the texting and call-handling tools integrated with those platforms. We may use more than one platform at a time, so you may receive messages from different numbers that belong to us. These Terms and our Privacy Policy apply the same way no matter which platform or number a message comes from. If we record a call, we will tell you at the start of the call.

Text messaging program terms:

  • Opt-in. You agree to receive text messages when you provide your mobile number and accept the text messaging disclosure on our registration form or a website contact form, agree on a paper or digital form, give verbal consent by phone or in person, agree by email, or text our business number first. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing or registering for any class.
  • Messages. Class confirmations and reminders; class updates such as schedule or instructor changes and weather or emergency cancellations; certification notices; and customer service replies in conversations you start with us. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages under this program. Any promotional texting would be a separate program that requires your separate opt-in.
  • Frequency and cost. Message frequency varies. A typical student receives two to five messages per class. Message and data rates may apply. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Opt-out and help. Reply STOP to any message to cancel at any time. Opt-in and opt-out both occur through the same number that texted you. You will receive one final confirmation message, and we will not text that number again unless you opt in again. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at Info@HinsonCPR.com or (775) 235-2117. If you opt out of texts, we may still contact you by email or phone about a class you are registered for or a balance you owe.
  • No sharing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. The communication platforms and carriers that deliver our messages (currently Zoom Phone and RingCentral) act as our service providers and use your mobile number only to transmit our messages.

Email. If you subscribe to our newsletter or opt in to email updates, you may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email. Service emails about a class you are registered for or a balance you owe are not marketing and will continue.

13. Website Use and Intellectual Property

  • Our websites and their content, including text, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, course descriptions, and downloadable materials, are owned by Hinson CPR or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and print content for your personal, non-commercial use. Any other use, reproduction, distribution, or modification without our written permission is prohibited.
  • The names, logos, and course materials of the AHA, NAEMT, and other organizations are the property of those organizations and are used under their authorization.
  • You may not use our websites or registration portal to submit false information, register under another person's identity, interfere with the operation of the sites, or copy or scrape content.
  • Our websites link to third-party sites and services, including the AHA eCard system, Enrollware, and Stripe, which are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Our websites are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of our websites at any time.

14. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  • Our courses teach the curriculum of the issuing organization. We do not guarantee that you will pass, that a certification will be accepted by any employer, school, or board, or any particular employment, licensing, or clinical outcome.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hinson CPR and its owners, instructors, staff, and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or related to our services or websites, including personal injury resulting from the improper use of skills learned in training, lost income, lost employment, lost certification, delays or errors in certification issuance by an issuing organization, and technical failures or service interruptions.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from or related to our services or websites is limited to the amount you paid us for the service that gave rise to the claim.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
  • You agree to indemnify and hold Hinson CPR harmless from claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of our services or websites, an unjustified payment dispute, or information you provide that is false or infringes another person's rights.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
  • Before starting any legal action or filing a payment dispute, you agree to contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the matter informally, and at least 30 days before starting any legal action.
  • Any legal action arising from or related to these Terms or our services must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Washoe County, Nevada, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may bring an eligible claim in small claims court in Washoe County.
  • If we take legal or collection action to recover amounts you owe under these Terms, including no-show balances and dispute fees, you will reimburse our reasonable costs, including attorney's fees, to the extent permitted by law.

16. General Terms

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, our Privacy Policy, and the course details and price shown at registration are the entire agreement between you and us about our services and replace any earlier terms. No verbal statement by any instructor or staff member changes these Terms. Only a written statement from Hinson CPR management can modify them for a specific registration.
  • Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time and will post the revised Terms on our website with a new effective date. The version of these Terms in effect when you registered governs that registration. The version in effect when you use our websites governs that use.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, that part will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the rest remains in effect. If the dispute fee in Section 8 is found unenforceable in the amount stated, it will be reduced to the maximum amount permitted by law.
  • No waiver. Our decision not to enforce a term in one instance, including granting a courtesy reschedule, refund, or fee waiver, does not waive our right to enforce it later or against anyone else.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign these Terms, or any amount you owe, in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business or to a collection agency.
  • Events beyond our control. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, public health emergencies, utility or internet outages, and actions of an issuing organization.
  • Notices. We send notices to the email address and phone number on your registration, and you are responsible for keeping them current. Notices to us should be sent to Info@HinsonCPR.com or to our mailing address in Section 17.
  • Language. These Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version controls.
