This is by far the easiest recertification class I’ve done. By that I mean efficient content, flexible scheduling, and actually educational... Terrance is a great teacher, knows his stuff, and taught me real-life applications on top of the recertification-required knowledge.

Sierra BLS is a great place in Reno to get your BLS, ACLS, etc. Terry is a brainiac, patient, eager to see others “get it” and his mega codes are truly a group effort, capitalizing on each participant’s skill set.

ACLS questions

How long is ACLS certification valid?

Your AHA ACLS Provider card is valid for 2 years from the issue date.

How much does ACLS cost?

ACLS is $100 to $225. The HeartCode ACLS skills test is $100 (the online portion is purchased separately through the AHA), and the classroom course is $150 to $225 depending on whether it is a renewal or your first card. Books or add-ons are extra if you need them.

Do I need BLS before ACLS?

BLS is often a prerequisite, and most employers want a current BLS card along with ACLS. We offer both, so you can renew them together.

Is the course AHA-approved?

Yes. All of our classes are American Heart Association courses taught by credentialed AHA instructors.

Do I need to bring anything to class?

Bring a photo ID and your completed ACLS precourse self-assessment. All training and testing equipment is provided.

What's the difference between classroom and HeartCode ACLS?

Classroom ACLS is fully in person with an instructor. HeartCode ACLS is blended: you complete the online portion through the AHA at your own pace, then finish with a hands-on skills test in our Reno classroom. Both lead to the same AHA ACLS Provider eCard.

How do I register?

Pick a date at the top of this page and tap Register to finish on our secure checkout. Registration and payment are online only, so we can't take them over the phone.

What if I need to change my date?

Contact us before your class. ACLS reschedules are $50, and all purchases are nonrefundable. Full details are in our terms and conditions.

Can you train our whole team?

Yes. We schedule private ACLS classes for groups and teams. Text or call (775) 235-2117 to set one up.

Is Hinson CPR the same as Sierra BLS?

Yes. Hinson CPR is the new name for Sierra BLS. Same owner, same classroom on Moana Lane, and the same American Heart Association Training Site.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
